You are a mommy that rocks. LM told me he had a belly ache and wanted to stay home. My reply “are you going to throw up?” He said “NO.” Off to school I sent him. Ya, I know I suck…
You guys rock my socks – and we’re talking serious derby socks. I wonder if I could have a freezing wind day. No snow here, but it’s f-in cold with that damn wind.
yes, snow days are awesome. less awesome: pushing a stroller with one hand, drinking coffee with the other and smoking with no hands. while wearing slippery gloves. i love snow.
My children will never have a snow day because we don’t get snow. I’ve lived in the great state of Texas my whole life and have never seen snow myself.
I do reward them with a Fun Friday every now and then if they keep the grades up. We totally goof off and do whatever our little hearts desire. I’ll be the mom in charge of Senior Skip Day!
while i would have wished you to be my mom…i would never, ever…let my kids stay home on a day when everyone else but them, had a snow day!! never. ever. ever. because, i think i would hang myself. or them. or all of us!!!
but, that was really nice of you. you must like your kids, or something!!
xo
You are the awesomest! I grew up in Atlanta where snow days were a serious rarity, and I not only treasured them but still remember them with incredibly vivid detail. I’m sure your kids will too. And, really, that’s way more important than a single silly day of school
Good for you! I hope all the other moms were as cool as you so that no one showed up :) That’ll teach ‘em not to pull that crap next time. I love that map BTW :-D
My mom would have kicked my ass out the front door. That is AWESOME you made your own snow day. Oh hey.. you have now allowed me one step closer to real life stalking with the map..hehehehe
I did the same thing! When the alarm went off, the radio speaker was saying how many schools were closed so we hooted and hollered and jumped out of bed. When my dad-in-law called to say that our Vancouver school was open I just said “screw that! We are having a snow day of our own!” It’s Vancouver! How many snow days do we even get anyway? We have to take ‘em when we get ‘em! I’m loving your blog. With 3 kids of my own, you gotta laugh to survive, you really, really, gotta laugh!
Came over from Huckdoll. That totally sucks that your school was totally open. Good for you for taking the snow day anyway!
