My kids are growing up wayyyy quicker than I did.

They must take after their father.

My kids had some friends that were wise beyond their years.

It was weird–they were always the BEST kids at our house…like they could breathe.

As opposed to kids with privileged backgrounds that sometimes seemed spoiled and needy.

I tried not to be afraid of the kid’s influence on my kid–it was hard, though.

I hate to say this, but for the most part, as they grew into adolescents, their paths did diverge, although they are sort of casual friends….

The main thing I tried to do was not let my kids judge them too harshly. To remember the little kid they were……
