Yesterday was a great weather day, and we decided that rollerblading by the river was just the thing to do. While we were out, we stumbled on a little park that we have passed a million times, but never paid any attention to. Turns out, the river is shallow enough right here to jump into, which is exactly what we did.
The boys searched for rocks and sea shells (I didn't have the heart to tell them sea shells tend to linger by seas),
played in the "waterfall"
and built sand turtles, sand volcanoes, and sand families.
My feet got nicely exfoliated. It's been a long time since I've had sand stuck in my toes. Of course, it's Denver gravel-y sand, but I can pretend.
So, a great Saturday was had by all, and we only smelled mildly bad when when got home. I'll be sweeping up sand for a week, but it was well worth it.
