this weekend in pictures

Well, let's see. First there was the Denver Shakespeare Festival. 4,000 budding thespians filled the DCPA and performed Shakespeare from 9 til 4 on Friday. It rocks. I have lots of pictures, but seeing how my kid is the cutest kid, I won't bore you with the others...

...except this one, because the only thing that horrifies our little Romeo more than the fact that she had to kiss Juliet is the fact that I got it on camera...

...and this one, because if he isn't the coolest traffic cop, smoking his cigar in a veritable sea of small children, then I don't know what is.

And then Saturday came, and with it came my big school fundraiser. You know, I told you about it...the one where we get a bunch of local bands to play a concert? Well, it was grrrreat. All the bands rocked. 3of3 loved The Panic...

Hey? See these guys here?

Yeah, that would be DeVotchKa. The DeVotchKa. Our super-secret guest. Oh my god, were they ever unbelievable. Incredible. Mind-blowing. And super nice. They hung out all night and I think they have 100 new 7-12 year old fans.

And then Sunday came, and I actually got a Mother's Day present from my kids. My friend took them to the store and let them pick out gifts for me. They got me a plant and a candle. It almost made me cry. They've never actually bought me something for Mother's Day before and they were quite proud. We had dinner with the god-family, and I don't have pictures because I was too tired to think by Sunday, but it was nice.

And that's it. How was yours?

Well, I would have to say that DeVotchka made my weekend/week/month. And Dave's. And Kori's. That was by far the best surprise I've ever had.

You are by far the coolest mom I've ever met. I hope I can grow up to be like you someday!

Maybe someday, if you throw all caution, good sense, sanitation skills and birth control to the wind, just maybe you will be!

Great pictures of the kids.

The concert sounded wonderful. I spaced it.

Harley & Lynn per my request went to buy me flowers for planting for Mother's Day. They got carried away.

We planted flowers for about 6 hours over the weekend. Hubby made us pancakes. Harley gave me a card and had dinner at our local thai restaurant. It was nice, but busy.
