I used Mr Linky - but here's the link again: http://recipes.mdmonroes.com/2008/11/mommas-wine-cake.html

We bought a bottle of white wine that was too sweet for my wife's taste. So we baked it in a cake! It's delicious, and I don't even like wine. I've read that folks have used both light and dark wines to make it.

Cause I am sure Grandma will appreciate the gesture...

OK. I entered your recipe contest (I couldn't comment there because the spam nazis prevent comments on posts older than five days). When (not if) I win, be sure to link to me and not the collaborative blog I posted the recipe on, K? K.

CLASSIC looks from the husband. CLASSIC.

Seriously. Our kids are so alike. Just yesterday my 1of4 was throwing a little ball around. I was making stir fry and I told him to be careful and he said, Yeah I wouldn't want my balls to fall in the wok!

We laughed. Hard.

Love your video and love that Mrs. Dude is in there!

I present the Uncool Yule Imbibing Elixir:

1 quart milk
1 quart cream
6 cups sugar
3 doz. jumbo eggs (beaten until they beg for mercy)
1/5 gallon light rum
2/5 gallon brandy

Mix thoroughly. Drink. But not all by yourself at one sitting because this makes about 2 gallons.

After drinking, do not breathe too close to open flames.

I had the same thought as Lo about your voice. Really love the idea of getting the kids in the kitchen. It's something I need to do more of myself. So stinkin' cute they all are!

I can't wait to cook with my son when he finally gets all my jokes about balls.

[...] today MrLady put up a Vlog of her kid’s cooking. This is a skill all parents should strive for. Making [...]

Ok, because after cooking the traditional stuff - I want something different and easy before the next big sha-bang of a holiday gathering . . . carnitas.

You will need:

3-4 pound pork carnitas or other cheap cut of pork roast
2 bottles/cans of beer (any beer will do)
6 whole cloves of garlic
1/4 cup chopped, fresh cilantro
and . . . a crockpot

Put all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours, 3-4 hours on high (give or take). Take the meat out, transfer to a cutting board or large bowl (whatever) and shred away - this will be easy, it will be really tender and shreddable. Serve with corn or flour tortillas (your choice) and whatever your favorite "taco" condiments may be. For me it is meat, shredded cabbage or lettuce, fresh salsa or pico de gallo, sliced radish, chopped avacado, dollop of sour cream and squeeze of fresh lime, topped with a little sprinkle of fresh cilantro. Drink a Pacifico while wolfing down the carnita and relax.

I'm confused...I am going to post the recipe here, and on my blog, just in case!

Creamed Onions

2 bags boiler onions (not pearl onions)
1 pint whipping cream (the kind in the carton, not the sweet kind)
Parmesan cheese
Butter (real butter)
Seasoned bread crumbs

Peel the onions and parboil until just barely done. Butter a DEEP casserole dish (I use an oven safe bowl, like 8" tall), and put a layer of onions in the bottom. Dot with butter, and top with a layer of crumbs and parmesan cheese. Add another layer of onions, butter, crumbs, cheese, and continue until the casserole is almost full-leave about an inch and a half or so-then pour whipping cream over the top (you may want to buy a little extra, you want to be able to see the whipping cream almost to the top of the onions. Top with a little extra parmesan cheese, and bake in a 350 oven until hot and bubbly-about 30-40 min.

These are SO good, we never have a Thanksgiving without them.

You can tell the donor that without being all clean and pressed, he's still pretty hot, and the video just wouldn't be the same without him in it. Also your choice of soundtrack at that point totally says it all.

The goggles? Classic. Why is it that whenever I cook with my boys I always end up yelling? And I just threw in a recipe for stuffing. It's not StoveTop, but it's not a far cry, either.

That video was totally rad. Man your boys are some cool ass kids. But I guess I could have guessed that being YOUR kids and all. The tunage rocked. I don't remember the last time I heard nelly Hot in Herrre. I am totally changing my ringtone to that. And Cholula! Seriously, you guys are too much. Personally we are a Tapito family. And now when I read "Hit it yo" I can hear you say it in my head now. haha. And the Go Diego Go in the background. Classic. Oh and you husband totally looks annoyed with you. Haha. I know the look well.
