I actually kind of like this one so yes, I'll do it. I really enjoyed your description of spending that time with your dad. It was very sweet.
I am SO with you on the QTip thing... that and the curried goat... oh yum yum.
But now you've reminded me that I haven't taken out anything to defrost for dinner. Wonder if I can get away with takeout tonight. I want curried goat.

Wow -- so many things about you I did not know. I'm totally with you on the Twizzlers thing (LOVE THEM! Have been known to hide the family-size package of them under the couch cushions so I can snack slowly on them for days without having to share...) However, I just have to say: curried goat ?!?!? and Old Spice ?!?!? and fluorescent lights ?!?!? Ok, the explanation of the lights was charming, so I get it, even though I personally hate that shade of light myself. But the goat and the Old Spice will have to just be on that list of differences that make you love your friends even more.
Also? Don't you know that you're not supposed to stick anything smaller than your own elbow in your ear? :)
I'll play along sometime this week, if for no other reason than that you deserve to be able to mock me! Totally.

The more I read about these cheese steaks, the more I think I need to make a trip to Philly and try one of these things for myself.
By the way - we totally have Girl Guide cookies up here. Good luck trying to find them, though. They last about 2 seconds when the girls set up outside of Wal-Mart or the Super Store. They don't even bother going door-to-door. Why waste time walking around when your customers will come to you?

I'm really with you on the "Rain on hot concrete". You took me way back to my youth with those few simple words. It's amazing how mere words describing a scent can stimulate such a visceral reaction...
I think you like that dog because it is the kind of dog you would normally be afraid of, but it has convinced you it won't harm you. It has now moved into the realm of being your protector when it's around. I'm thinking it's all sorts of bad-ass, but won't use it on you, so that bad-assness would be turned on anyone that would threaten its people, and you have the clear sense that you are one of its people.
Which says something about lots of stuff.

all of the above. Your friend is right, anytime I'm down, I go buy a lipstick and feel like i have gotten something just for me.
I once counted nearly 20 lipsticks in my purse no wonder it was so heavy. i love chess. and i can copy other people's handwriting as well, i love it when i find a really good piece of handwriting. i've noticed that a lot of Americans have similar handwriting. big choppy prints or wide-spaced. i dunno, just an observation.
I LOVE Lava soap. Papa worked is a cable splicer and always had dirty hands. He would come home and scrub away with that stuff, followed by Cornhuskers Lotion. I used to use it because it was gritty (and because Papa did).
I also LOVE cheesesteaks. The best ones I ever had were when I lived in New Jersey.

As for Philly cheesesteaks, I've never had an authentic one. But I absolutely know that if I ever did, we would have to immediately relocate to a house across the street from the authentic source. Some things -- like what would happen to one's marriage if George Clooney moved in next door -- one just knows.
