Isn't he the sweetest thing you've ever seen, all freshly 8, blowing out the candles on his morning birthday cake? (Yes, I wake my kids up with cake on their birthdays. Wanna make something of it?)

I think cake first thing in the morning is the PERFECT way to celebrate a birthday. My wife's seriously manic about ensuring our kids' birthdays are always amazingly special, so when I saw the cake thing, it struck me as absolutely cool. We get that!
