Observations on my late night indulgence

I love Earl Grey tea

because it tastes like the smell

of Old Spice cologne.

That left a bad taste in my mouth, not the poem persay but the thought of what it said.

Eeeeew. I don't like tea, I certainly don't like cologne flavored tea!

I totally get that.

I have a love affair with Celestial Seasonings Morning Thunder because it is the taste of the smell of 5am and my dad getting ready to go off to work. I smell that tea and it takes me back to being 4 and my dad sweeping me up for a hug before he left and letting me have a sip of his heavily sweetened morning tea.

Earl Grey is the taste of the smell of long conversations late into the night with my sister (who is addicted to the stuff).

I totally get things that taste like something smells. For example, curry tastes like armpits smell. I can't touch it.

If you like Earl Gray, have you tried Darjeeling? I lurve the smell of that.

Such a dignified
tea, paired with such an old man
cologne. How could you?

No.
You did not just say that.
*takes a big drink and inhales the scent while she does so*

I only drink Earl Grey when I'm really missing ThEx ... because it smells like him ... like Old Spice.

I have never admitted that to anyone, I always thought I was insane for thinking a tea smelled like someone (even though I know that smells are wholly associated with people & memories).

I just blog-vomited on you ... sorry. LOL

And now, I will never drink my Earl Grey quite the same again. :)

The first guy I ever loved wore Old Spice.
No wonder Earl Grey is the only tea I can stand.

Hee!

the question is if you have ever chugged a bottle of old spice because it smells like Earl Grey tastes.

I love the smell of Earl Grey, but I don't think it smells or tastes like Old Spice. Okay, I dunno what Old Spice tastes like. But I do think EG smells like high priced men's cologne. I get visions of Marcus Schenkenberg when I drink it... ummm lemon bergamot...

Hmmm....maybe that's why I've never liked earl grey...I'm more of a chai girl myself.

I am literally here, on my couch, at 3AM, sipping from a cup of Earl Grey tea. I am fanatical about this tea and when it comes to Earl Grey, money is no object. I have spent big bucks tying to find the perfect E.G.

And in 17 short syllables, you totally changed that for me. Thanks!

That might be the reason I don't like it.
