Don't you just love that feeling when there's something you've been dying to say for a long long time and you just could never find the time or place to say it but then you suddenly have the chance and you jump on it? Yeah, me too.

Yeah, I'm still up. Norco can suck it. First it makes me sleepy. Then it keeps me up all night. It's bipolar. I, on the other hand, am not.

Dear Asparagus,
It seems like years since I felt your slimey skin,

cause they tell me I'm only imagining you went away.
But it's hard you see. I remember your greenness,
and pointy heads, and you know it really hurts,
because, I feel so alone. And I don't think after the way
I've treated you sometimes that you want me no more,
but anyway asparagus, I have to keep on trying because
it's the way that I know I've gotta live. You gotta
understand that being alone ain't too cool,
and I always feel that loneliness,
when you don't come to me... and so I get to feelin'...
that I gotta... live alone... love alone... and cry alone...
and sometimes... I feel I gotta eat alone...

It's sad to admit, but J and I actually LOVE asparagus. But perhaps that is because I was raised in a house with *gasp* avacado green appliances (even the diswasher, natch) that only just retired LAST YEAR.
I wonder if my parents realized they were setting me up for such humiliation later in life?

I'm with Lori. Asparagus rocks. Even if it does make your pee stank. That is the best part. Asapargus off the grill or boiled than shocked. MMMMMMM.

That was brilliant. Sadly, I too am a fan of some grilled Asparagus (notice how some people are cap'n the "a", like it's a proper name now?) with garlic salt and lemon juice. You gave it life, now it can come get you in your sleep, not to kill you afterall it is ribbed for your pleasure.

My mother's one-time and ill-prepared presentation of canned asparagus with canned cheese sauce - why yes! It was in the 80s! - allows me to empathize completely.
But, there is a wad of asparagus in my fridge right now. To be very honest, my husband bought it, and he was feeling "fancy."
Me, I'd prefer green beans, but in the interest of maintaining my toddler's interest in "grown-up food", I occasionally eat the asparagus. Heavy on the sauce, please.
At least I will never be able to eat asparagus without thinking of you...
